Welcome, AI enthusiasts

Codex has been clicking through apps and editing files on people's machines since April, though every one of those instructions still had to be typed out first. That changed yesterday, and a single spoken sentence can now open the job and keep correcting it while the work carries on. Voice itself has been part of ChatGPT for nearly three years, so what moved here is how far a spoken instruction now reaches. Let's dive in!

In today’s insights:

  • ChatGPT Voice Now Runs Codex Without a Keystroke

  • ChatGPT Health Now Keeps Track of Your Blood Work for Free

  • Musk's Grok Now Runs 1,024 AGENTS at Once

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

Evolving AI: OpenAI put ChatGPT Voice in charge of Codex, so speech alone starts a job and steers it mid run.

Key Points:

  • ChatGPT Voice runs on GPT-Live, the engine that listens and speaks at the same time instead of waiting for a turn.

  • A session has to begin in voice mode, since any chat opened by typing falls back to plain dictation.

  • The feature reaches Plus, Pro, Business, Edu and Enterprise on macOS and Windows, and those last two workspaces open on a two-week early access window.

Details:

OpenAI sends blockers and finished results back into the same conversation, so a person hears what the work produced and can answer with the next instruction. Someone can cut in before ChatGPT finishes a reply, and the correction lands without the sentence ever reaching its end. On macOS the app reads the window currently in focus, and the same voice control reaches Codex from an iPhone once the phone is paired to a desktop host.

Why It Matters:

GPT-Live holds the conversation while Codex edits real files behind it, so the skill this asks for is describing a problem in ordinary words. A person can ask for something, walk away from the machine and return to finished work, and that shift will reach most people long before they write a line of code.

How owning AI deployment expands your career

Across product, ops, and CX teams, a new kind of role is taking shape: the person responsible for making AI actually work, day to day. In this roundtable, three people living this shift share what it's really like: Simone Santiago Broad (Yoco), Yelva Espinoza (Zumba Fitness), and Fin's Dave Lynch. You'll hear how they carved out these roles, what the job looks like across industries, the skills they'd hire for, and the challenges they're tackling right now.

Evolving AI: OpenAI built it around the 300 million health questions ChatGPT already fields every week.

Key Points:

  • ChatGPT Health opened on July 23 to logged-in US users 18 and older, on Free, Go, Plus, and Pro across web and iOS.

  • Apple Health, One Medical, Function Health, and supported US hospital systems feed in visit notes, sleep, and activity.

  • ChatGPT asks permission before using anything connected, and none of that data trains OpenAI's models or targets ads.

Details:

GPT-5.6 Sol answers for paid accounts while free users get GPT-5.5 Instant, and either can set a fresh result beside prior tests or summarize what shifted since the last appointment. Hundreds of physicians wrote the scenarios behind them. OpenAI walled this into a separate tab earlier this year and found 70% of health talk happening outside it, so the context now travels into any chat, and cutting a source clears synced data inside 30 days.

Find Health in the left sidebar. US only, 18+, web and iOS.

Why It Matters:

Apple Health has tracked your body for years without saying what any of it meant. That reading now sits in a chat window holding your medications too, so the question you would have carried into a doctor's office gets answered at midnight instead. The answer still belongs to a clinician.

Evolving AI: Grok Build's new Workflows feature takes on jobs too large for one conversation.

Key Points:

  • Workflows breaks a plain-language request into phases and runs 128 agents against it in a single background pass.

  • The largest jobs scale to 1,024 agents, and independent skeptics verify every finding before it reaches the report.

  • One run can triage the last 100 open issues and hand back a top-10 action list.

Details:

Grok Build writes the workflow script from the request, smoke-checks it before launching, and improves it between runs. Progress saves as each phase closes so a paused run resumes without repeating finished work. Running /workflows tracks every agent live with per-agent token counts while the session stays free. A built-in deep research command answers questions with sources attached to each claim. Saved workflows become slash commands that a whole team can call from the repo.

Why It Matters:

Elon Musk has put a week of review work behind a single command, which changes how much one person can reasonably take on. For anyone sitting on a long backlog, the job becomes writing the request and then reading the ranked list that comes back. The harder skill becomes judging whether that report can be trusted, because agents working in parallel tend to agree with each other.
